Everyone wants their proposal to be picture-perfect and to go go off without any problems. Unfortunately, unexpected things can and do happen. When planning a proposal, it’s important to keep in mind that some details may need to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Yet there are things you can do to ensure that your proposal unfolds as smoothly as possible. Being prepared for anything, having a solid backup plan, and avoiding these Top 3 Disasters will help ensure that your proposal will be just as you want it to be.
Disaster #1: Drinking Too Much
- Avoid drinking to excess before a proposal – remember that this is one of the most important things you’ll ever do!
- Keeping a clear head will help you stick to your proposal plan.
- You do want to remember the moment that your partner said yes – alcohol will negatively affect your ability to recall not only the proposal but everything before and after.
- Being drunk is not attractive, and you want to show your partner that you’re marriage material – don’t you?
- Pictures don’t lie. If you are drunk in your proposal photos, you will be able to tell. And those photos will be looked back on for the rest of your life…..eek!
Disaster #2: Losing the Ring
- Don’t bury the ring, or leave the ring unattended so that you can come back for it later. Bad things can and do happen all the time when people do this.
- Make sure that the ring is secure within the ring box (and if proposing over water or in uncertain terrain – ensure that the ring is tied with ribbon to the box so that if it’s dropped you don’t lose it). Use a secure ring box such as the slim engagement ring box from www.Ringstash.com if you want to keep your ring safe, without being too conspicuous.
- Don’t put the ring into food or drink. This has led to rings being swallowed, and people choking. A trip to the ER to fish out the engagement ring isn’t a great start to being engaged.
Disaster #3: Not Having the Right Help
- Proposals should be well thought out and planned, but the more complicated the proposal plan, the more things can go wrong if you don’t have the right help.
- Relying on family and friends can greatly increase the chances of a disaster. People that do not have an Event Planning background can do things that unknowingly cause big problems. Plus, the more people you tell the more likely it is that someone will blab.
- If you have your heart set on creating an amazing proposal or if your proposal has many steps, hire a Proposal Planner from The Heart Bandits to help make sure that the proposal runs smoothly.
