So the 4th of July is coming up and I am sure many people are planning on proposing. My advice is generally not to propose on a holiday. I think the proposal should be on a day when she won’t expect it and a day that is just about the two of you. However, if you are set on popping the question this weekend here are some tips:
- Don’t do it during the fireworks! That idea has been done a million times. Give her a GREAT story to tell when people ask how you proposed. (During the fireworks would only work if it were somehow personalized)
- Create a very personalized proposal based on your love story. The proposal should incorporate something meaningful like how you met or how you fell in love.
- Make it private! The 4th of July is a holiday normally spent with friends and family, but a proposal should be private. Plan the proposal so that is just the two of you during the special moment and then partake in the festivities after.
