Orange County Marriage Proposal

When I think back to this proposal, I just have to smile.  Dulari, Ricky’s now fiancé, is the sweetest, cutest, bubbliest lady that I have had the pleasure of planning a proposal for.  After the proposal, I literally wanted to put her in my pocket and keep her! So here is the story, Ricky wanted to propose somewhere in Orange County that had a really lovely view.  After interviewing him, one of the things that stood out to me was that her favorite song is “Pursuit of Happiness” by Kid Cudi.  Now, for those of you that don’t know the song, it is a hip hop song so off the bat you may not think it would be romantic, but I had an idea.  I presented the idea of making that song the entire theme of the proposal!  Crazy right? But it turned in to the perfect proposal idea and here is how it all went down.

Ricky told Dulari that they were going to a family members house for dinner and that he needed to stop by a bakery to pick up some dessert.  They parked and began walking toward “the bakery,” but where Ricky was really taking her was to a gorgeous gazebo overlooking the ocean.  As soon as she began walking toward the gazebo, a string quartet started playing “Pursuit of Happiness.”

Ricky walked her inside the gazebo where photos of the couple were surrounded by bright red rose petals.  Crystal beads hung from the gazebo and in the middle was a large sign that said, “I’m In The Pursuit of Happiness, Will You Marry Me?”  Ricky dropped to his knee and Dulari said yes.  Congrats to the gorgeous couple!
