How The Heart Bandits Began

The Heart Bandits began in 2010 with a simple idea: a marriage proposal shouldn’t feel like something pulled from a template. It should feel like the person you’re proposing to.

What started with Michele and Marvin helping people create more thoughtful proposals grew into a worldwide proposal planning company. More than 10,000 proposals later, we still personally work with our clients – developing ideas, solving logistics, and bringing each experience to life.

Michele & Marvin

We met in 2005, working the same job, bonded over being two of the only “cool” people in the office. In 2010, Marvin proposed and realized there was no real resource out there to help proposers plan a great one. So we built it. This is that resource.

An entrepreneur since childhood, Michele left her Air Force and corporate career behind to build something she’s truly passionate about. Her type-A instincts have masterminded hundreds of flawless proposals under high-stakes pressure. Off the clock, you’ll find her laughing, dancing, and spending time with family.

Marvin Velazquez

CO-FOUNDER & PROPOSAL PLANNER

With advanced engineering degrees from MIT and Penn State, Marvin has a knack for making proposals unique, technically ambitious, and deeply personal – and an analytical mind that makes sure no detail slips through. He’s also the inventor of Ring Stash, the slim engagement ring box that’s become a favorite among proposers who want to keep the ring hidden until the perfect moment. Off the clock: CrossFit, guitar, and Michele.
