Are you ready to propose but haven’t found the perfect ring just yet? Do you plan on proposing somewhere outside of the country where you are uncomfortable bringing your flashy ring? Does your marriage proposal involve any crazy type of stunts like an underwater surprise, skydiving adventure or ziplining thrill ride? If any of these situations apply to you, then it might be a good idea to consider substituting a portable emergency engagement ring instead of the real thing until you are safely home. This week, we’ve put a list together of the best situations to use a “filler” versus the real deal:
Traveling Abroad
If you are traveling to a country outside of the United States and you feel uncomfortable traveling with your newly purchased ring, it is probably best to leave it somewhere safe at home and employ the portable emergency ring instead.
Under the Sea
The ocean is a beautiful setting for any proposal and if you plan on proposing on or near the water of any kind, plan on using a portable emergency ring versus the real thing. If anything were to happen at least it would only be a plastic ring at the bottom of the ocean and not your new, shiny diamond.
Skydiving Adventure
Jumping out of a plane brings people to their knees naturally but if you plan on proposing while you’re up there, keep in mind the gusting winds that accompany hanging out at tens of thousands of feet. If you are wary of the portable emergency ring getting blown away, keep it inside of it’s plastic card and pop it out once you are both on the ground.
Zipline Ride
Ziplining through the forest high above the treetops is exciting and fun and a great option for an outdoor, adventurous proposal for the couple that loves a good thrill. It is not, however, thrilling to make it all the way through the zipline course and find that your engagement ring is missing. Again, this is the perfect situation to use your portable emergency ring for those ‘just in case’ situations.
