The Fourth of July is a national holiday – a day of celebration during the height of summer. Warm memories of barbecues and backyard fireworks can seem like the perfect backdrop for your 4th of July proposal. But if you a marriage proposal plan on this special day, read our advice on how to propose on the 4th of July, as there are many factors to consider that you probably haven’t even though of. Here are 3 tips to keep in mind:
Consider The Noise
One of the most overlooked issues with proposing on the 4th of July is just how noisy it is! Fireworks can go off at any time during the day – excited neighborhood kids love to start the celebration early, and if you are planning on proposing, this needs to be taken into account. There’s nothing worse than trying to propose and having your words drowned out by loud booming in the distance. It’s a good idea to propose away from crowded areas, public parks, and other areas that are known to attract large crowds of people. Some cities forbid fireworks, and may seem like a safe bet, but there are always people who break the rules.
Find Privacy
This tip probably seems counter-intuitive but try to get as far away from other people as possible. Consider proposing in a mountainous region where the population is low. Think about proposing at a high-end resort out in the desert, or on a boat that is far away from land. You can also propose in the air in a plane or helicopter – just be sure that you are out of the way of fireworks going off. This is not to say that you can’t enjoy fireworks together later in the day – just that the proposal should happen independently of that unless you’ve managed to put on a fireworks show just for your partner.
Put Your Partner First
The proposal is about pleasing your partner and confessing your love – and the traditional festivities of the day may detract from that. Be sure that any proposal you plan places your partner at the center of attention. Don’t be afraid to personalize your proposal – if your partner loves astronomy, for instance, make sure you take them somewhere with a fabulous, star-filled view. If your partner is a foodie and loves fine dining, take them to the best restaurant in the city. You don’t have to have a Fourth of July themed proposal just because you’re proposing on the 4th.
Avoid the cliche’s and let The Heart Bandits help guide you in creating a unique proposal for your partner – one that they won’t expect. If you want to create a personalized experience that your partner will never forget, contact us today.
Regardless of when you propose, you should always give your partner the best experience that you can. Surprise your partner by using a non-traditional engagement ring box like the compact box from www.ringstash.com. The slim design easily allows for the ring to be hidden, and your partner won’t suspect an imminent proposal until you’re ready to pop the question.
